The Old Police Cells – Room 2

A Unique Experience

Our most recent small apartment is the Old Police Cells. Self contained with a bedroom in one cell, and a kitchenette, and large shower in the other.

Complete with unique features including the original doors with food flap and stone walls. Yet the modern convenience of central heating and a fully fitted shower room with loo!

Since these photographs were taken, we have added a pull down table with 2 chairs in the kitchenette area so that you can sit and have your breakfast or even work from your laptop!

People love staying in the cells. Indeed, when there is no one in, Emma enjoys the peace and quiet of this space and also the cool during a heatwave! Please be assured that the opposite is true in the winter months. These rooms get nice and toastie and heat up quickly, and the walls act like storage heaters so it doesn’t need to be on for long.

The police cells have become the rooms of choice for visiting musicians, and many a well known ‘folkie’ has enjoyed staying here including the legendary Martin Carthy, Christine Collister, Kevin Dempsey, Chris While, and Fairport Convention’s Ric Sanders who comes for a week every August with duo partner Vo Fletcher who takes the other room, after Cropredy festival, among others!
