Accommodation

Staying with us

We have two rooms that we rent out on booking.com. You can view each room via the drop down menu.

Both rooms have a bedroom, private shower room/toilet, and a kitchenette area which includes a microwave, toaster, kettle, and fridge.

Please note – we have recently become aware that the booking.com site now generates an AI summary about the rooms that doesn’t always reflect what is actually included in the rooms. Please check with us if you have any questions.

For useful information about what is included in the rooms see the list below.

Each suite is private and contains 2 main rooms – a bedroom, a large shower room with toilet though the layout is slightly different in each as below.

Lanstefan view (on booking.com this is called Victorian Police station – flexible self-contained suite) contains an additional small space between the bathroom and bedroom that is suitable for a study or dining space and the kitchenette area is in the ‘L’ shaped part at the end of the large bedroom.

The Old Police cells (on booking.com this is called Victorian Police Station apartment) comprises 2 cells – one is the bedroom and the second is split in two with the shower room in one part and the kitchenette area in the other part. There is a table that can be pulled down from the wall where you can sit and eat/ work at a laptop.

Breakfast – we provide tea, coffee, milk, sugar, jam, butter, cereals, porridge pots, and croissants in the rooms as standard. If you have any dietary requirements please let us know before you come. We try to keep waste to a minimum and have often had to throw food away that hasn’t been used. Again, the booking.com site can be misleading about breakfast in its AI summaries. Ziggy is always happy to pop out and get extra milk, cereals, different options for you if you let him know.

Contacting us during your stay – we (Ziggy (my dad), my son Angus, and myself) all live in the house, upstairs. The walls are very thick so we cannot hear you if you shout for us. Also, we all work at various times of the day and night so are not always in. If you need to speak with us during your stay please call Ziggy or myself – our numbers are provided in your rooms.

Parking – We have a car park at the back of the house. NB The drive is very narrow and can take vehicles up the the size of a transit van. Emma parks her T5 campervan in the car park with no trouble. If you are not confident to drive down the drive we can recommend other free or low cost places to park close by. These spaces will be available to guests only until we have renovated the barn at which point we can recommend other places to park. Please check with Ziggy in advance about parking in our car park as he will tell you which spot to park in. We are very lucky to be one of only a small few properties in the town centre with private parking.

Entrance to the property – we do not use the front door usually. There is a door at the side, down the drive. This door has a keypad – we will give you the code when you arrive and it is also in your room. You can come and go as you please during your stay.
